Inclusion in Northern Research Vox Pops screen for Arctic Change 2020
After months of preparation and hard work, this year’s first-ever Inclusion in Northern Research Vox Pops hit the virtual stage as part of ArcticNet’s Arctic Change 2020 conference!
Arctic Change 2020 brought together more than 1,500 researchers, scientists, communities and interested stakeholders from across Canada, the circumpolar Arctic and beyond.
Day One: Opening Plenary Sessions and Day One Vox Pops
This panel featured international experts from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Groups I and II, an expert on Indigenous Health and one expert on Marine Governance and connectivity between science disciplines. The conversation focused on the importance of connectivity between science disciplines to ultimately work towards a sustainable Arctic in these times of unprecedented change.

Day Two: International Science Cooperation in the Arctic
This plenary session focused on international science cooperation in the Arctic and the Arctic Science Agreement. Featuring the Nordic Ambassadors to Canada, and Canada’s top ranked Arctic official, the conversation will include the role of cooperation in involving the training of Indigenous youth, the importance of exchange programs, the impacts of climate change, and business development and sustainability in the Arctic in times of rapid change.

Day Three: The Arctic: An Ocean of Change and Collaboration
This panel focused on international collaboration, polar climate change and the MOSAiC and T-MOSAiC projects. The final Vox Pop Sessions for Arctic Change 2020 focused on moving forward by nurturing our relationships.
