The Inclusion in Northern Research initiative continued its explorations of what it means to feel included in northern research with a special session during Arctic Science Summit Week 2021, held virtually from Lisbon, Portugal this March.

After its highly-successful introductory run for Arctic Change 2020, this joint international session titled “Towards an Inclusive Arctic Research Community” was held in partnership with Cardiff University and the UK British Antarctic Survey, the US Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) and the University of Alberta for Arctic Science Summit Week 2021, virtually from Lisbon, Portugal, March 19, 2021.

This session, led by Dr. Samantha Buzzard from Cardiff University featured special guest speakers Dr. Andrea Breen from the University of Guelph, Lindsay DuPre from the University of Toronto and Dr. Shawn Wilson from Southern Cross University in Australia as well as emerging youth artist Theodore Thompson from Arviat, Nunavut.
