Eva Suluk is an Inuk hunter, mother and grandmother from Arviat, Nunavut. She’s been a long-time volunteer parent with the Arviat Film Society, and has worked with several community-based and visiting research projects over the last decade. She is an experienced and avid hunter, spending time with her children and grandchildren at her camp on the tundra outside Arviat.
Some of the projects she has worked with include Global Dignity, TakingITGlobal’s Explore150 program; Digital Journalism with the University of North Dakota; Overcoming Isolation and Deepening Social Connectedness with the Samuel Centre for Social Connectedness; Arviat TV and Isuma TV’s Digital Indigenous Democracy Project.
Eva also enjoys visiting the Winnipeg Art Gallery, making dried meat at her cabin and sharing the best of her community’s traditional values.
