Incubator for Digital and Cultural Entrepreneurship mentor and Inclusion in Northern Research Elder Dorothy Atuat Tootoo is among this year’s recipients of the Order of Nunavut. Congratulations, Atuat!

Her career has included significant roles with Nunavut Arctic College and the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. She is a long-time community volunteer who has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Governor General’s Polar Medal.

The objective of the Order of Nunavut is to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the territory. The Order is the highest honour of Nunavut and takes precedence over all other orders, decorations or medals conferred by the Government of Nunavut.

“This year’s recipients of the Order of Nunavut are inspiring women whose contributions and service have made a profound difference in the lives of countless Nunavummiut,” said Nunavut Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Tony Akoak. The investiture will be held during the fall 2022 sitting of the Legislative Assembly on a date to be announced.
